Things to do

Lossiemouth is a fantastic base and offers a wide range of activities to suit all interests within easy travelling distance.

 

I have provided some additional information about some of the most popular ones on the following sections, but my lists aren't exhaustive and Lossiemouth is a great base for Skiing (Cairngorm, Lecht) and there are a number of horse riding schools in the area.

Elgin is only 6 miles away and there is

 

Lossiemouth is approximately 45 minutes from Inverness which has may attractions including a castle, a Monster (Nessie of Loch Ness), cinemas, theatre and lots of shops and places to eat. www.explore-inverness.com

 

Aberdeen is 90 minutes away from Lossiemouth and has a fantastic range of shops, a theatre, museums, art gallery and a busy nightlife.  www.visitabdn.com

 

There are a huge number of distilleries within Moray - several have excellent visitor centres (usually offering a dram as part of their tours).  Two of the most famous activities are the Malt Whisky Trail and the Speyside Whisky Trail.  A number of different companies offer tours - or it is very easy to plan your own trip.  is a good place to help you plan your journey.
