Lossiemouth is famous for its lighthouse - Covesea Lighthouse so we wanted a name to reflect this, but since the cottage is a 2 mile walk from this new visitor attraction we didnt want to have "lighthouse' or "Covesea" in the name. However a search on internet alerted us to the term "Wickie" which is the nickname given to the lighthouse keeper!
The cottage was built around 1900, the previous owners had lived in it for many years, and it was their family home until their passing. When other children of the owners decided to sell we asked to buy it since were love Kinneddar Street. We bought it in January 2018, and we started work on renovations in Summer 2018, and completed the works in March 2019.
We totally reconfigured the downstairs of the Cottage. The cottage originally had a bedroom downstairs and a small scullery type kitchen and 2 living rooms. We combined the kitchen area, bedroom and one of the living rooms to make a open plan kitchen, dining area and living room.
See the gallery for photos of the rooms.
